What Fluids Need Checked and Changed?

Every vehicle has certain fluids that are required to keep it running and operating in peak condition. Some are more essential than others– such as in the case of washer fluid. it’s nice to have, but it isn’t going to cause the car to fail if it’s empty or if the system is damaged. If, on the other hand, you run out of oil, you could blow up your engine in a matter of minutes.

That’s why you need to rely on us for regular fluid checks and changes as a part of your BMW maintenance schedule. At regular maintenance intervals, as well as during any other repair or maintenance, we can (and will) check and top off any of the following fluids:

How Often Should I Have Fluids Checked?

BMW and our staff of expert mechanics recommend having fluids checked at every service visit, as well as on their own interval of within the first year or 5,000 miles. Then, you should have them checked at every 10,000-mile interval after that, and each type of fluid will have its own guidelines for determining when it should be changed. And, when we’re checking and changing your fluids, we’ll get a chance to look at everything else, too.

You should change oil every 5,000-7,500 miles, along with a new filter. Brake fluid should be changed when it is dirty, or around 30,000 miles in most models. You’ll need a transmission flush or fluid change at 30,000 to 60,000 miles, depending on the type of your transmission and other factors.
