Brake fluid service is part of standard maintenance, even for luxury brands like Porsche. Keeping your brakes in good shape is a big safety issue, but it’s also going to help with other aspects of vehicle performance, as well. Euromotive’s team of experienced, certified Porsche technicians can handle all of your brake service and repair needs, including standard fluid service.
As part of routine maintenance, brake fluid service needs to be performed periodically on your Porsche. This process involves inspecting the fluid level and checking for any leaks, as well as topping off the fluid when needed. This is usually done as a courtesy during other maintenance services, but will be required at a deeper level as the car ages. Porsche likes to have the brakes and fluid system checked at all opportunities, but they recommend dedicated service for the brakes and brake fluid between 5,000 and 10,000 miles, depending on how much you drive.
Brake fluid service may also require replacement of the brake fluid or bleeding of the brakes to get air out of the system and ensure that it has the appropriate pressure.
The brake fluid in your Porsche is responsible for powering the hydraulic disc braking system that is designed to stop the vehicle. The fluid is held to a certain pressure and over time, if it leaks it can reduce the pressure in the system and cause issues with the brakes. It can also just become dirty and need to be replaced over time because the fluid constantly circulates through the brake system, collecting debris and buildup along the way.
If brake fluid is gone, lines are broken, or it is too dirty, the brakes on your Porsche could work improperly or even fail completely. That’s why this seemingly simple fluid plays such an important role in your vehicle’s health.
Although it’s a different service than brake fluid flushing, inspecting the physical brake system and replacing any necessary components is usually a good idea to do at the same time as your fluid service. We’ll take the time to do a full visual inspection of the brake system, including the fluid lines and hoses to check for cracks and signs of damage. We’ll also check out the calipers, rotors, pads, and other parts of the brakes for signs of damage or wear.
If anything else needs to be replaced when we’re handling your brake fluid service, the team at Euromotive will be on the job and we’ll take care of it in no time, but of course, we’ll discuss everything with you before we get to work.
